Anyone planning to attend any of the major events of 2006, and in need of
accommodations, should make housing arrangements ASAP.
Two weekends, in particular, may prove troublesome for securing housing:
(over)
The “Wagon Train” weekend – June 23-25 is also the weekend for Thunder In The Valley – a weekend for Motorcyclists hosted by Johnstown. As many as 200,000 Bikers may be in the area that weekend (possibly an additional draw for some of our visitors) – but an event that will certainly make rooms scarce. Make Reservations Early
The Labor Day Weekend September 1-4 is the weekend for a number of events in the area – the largest being the Folk Fest in Johnstown Make Reservations early

SORRY
Our History Book – THE SPIRIT OF A COMMUNITY –
WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE for Christmas 2005.
As editor of the History Book - I, Jim Salony, take full responsibility for disappointing all of you who ordered The Spirit of a Community for Christmas giving. No excuses. I was just not able to muster the requisite human resources to produce, in a timely manner, the quality publication you deserve. I am sincerely sorry.
Your support has been most encouraging. You have provided wonderful photos and well written memoirs for the History Book. You have submitted over $10,000 in Memorials and Remembrances for inclusion in the History Book, and by the time this newsletter is mailed, you will have purchased about one-third of the 1000 History Books that are to be printed. THANK YOU!
We intend to have Our History Book published as early as possible in Our Bicentennial Year of 2006. We are not going to rush to meet an arbitrary deadline and publish a book that would be less than the best product we are capable of producing. This History Book is a “once in 200 year” project, and we want it to do the Spirit of Our Community proud.

1. THE DEADLINE FOR THE EARLY SALE DISCOUNT PRICE OF $32.OO ($37.00 SHIPPED) for the History Book has been extended to DECEMBER 31, 2005
