The Spirit Of A Community – 1806-2006 – The History Of The Lilly Area

Jim Salony – President Lilly-Washington Historical Society October- 2006

With the celebration of Our Bicentennial Homecoming over the Labor Day Weekend now checked off as a huge success thanks to efforts of scores of volunteers – but most attributable to the enthusiastic participation of our whole constituency, the hometowners and the returning natives – we now turn to preparation for the next Bicentennial Events.

Mark your calendar – Sunday -October 8, 2006 – Wildlife Exhibit (Mounted Game – ranging from snakes and fish to turkey and bear) – 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. – Bear Rock Sportsman’s. Several local residents have come forward with offers to exhibit their mounted trophies. This will be a free public event and there will be local experts on hand to discuss hunting and fishing. The exhibit is designed to educate the young people of the area on the various species in the Pennsylvania woodlands. We invite everyone to come out and experience an enjoyable afternoon. Bring the children and grandchildren out to share in the enjoyable learning experience.

-Anyone wishing to display mounted game, trophies, or awards should bring them to the Bear Rock Club between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on October the 8th. Those who want to exhibit should contact Jack Barlick (886-4694), Frank Klayko (886-2221), or Jim Davis (886- 4845).

Mark your calendar – Wednesday – October 25, 2006 – Ghost Night (Tales of the Supernatural told by paranormal investagators) – 7:00 p.m. – Lilly Borough Building - 417 Cleveland Street – Lilly PA. This is the 5th Annual Ghost Night – and many satisfied customers come back year after year.
