REMINDER

The Lilly Fire Company Gun Fest will be held Saturday at the firemen’s pavilion. Tickets can be purchased from fire company members. This is a rain or shine under the pavilion roof event.

Also, as a reminder: the Sokols picnic is August 1; the Legions on August 8; Our Lady of the Alleghenies on August 15; and Our Lady of Mount Carmel on August 22^nd. A busy month.

YARDSALE

The town wide annual Lilly yard sale will be held all day August 7^th. To be listed on the map contact Nadine Rodgers at 886-4564, the listing fee is $5 and benefits the Lilly Decorating Committee’s projects in the community. It is worth getting listed as there is a large turn out for this event.

The Fire Company will be hosting a chicken dinner at the pavilion during the yard sale so you won’t even have to make lunch.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Jessica Giblock who recently received her Master Degree in Occupational Therapy from the Chatman College in Pittsburgh. She was a prior graduate of IUP. Jessica is the daughter of Nancy and John Giblock.

SENIOR CITIZENS

I was asked to remind everyone that lunch is available Mondays through Fridays starting at 11:30 A: M at the Senior Citizens Center on Front Street in Cresson. The cost is a $2 donation for those over age 65 and $3 for those under 65. Senior can get a ride to the Center for lunch by calling 886-4147. This is an excellent low cost program. It costs more than that to buy a can of Progreeso Soup at the store.

SYMPATHIES

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Ken Leahey who passed away on July 13^th. Ken was well known in town where he served as president of the Lilly Bank. He also hauled coal and oil for many years in the community.

Sympathy also is extended to the family and friends of Priscilla Treml who died on July 9^th. She and her husband Wilbur operated the Portage Food Pantry for many years and she was active in Saints Luke’s Church.

Also sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Joe Conley who died July 4^th. Joe was born in Lilly a son of the late Merle and Alberta Conley. He resided in Portage.

BIRTHDAYS

Today, July 22^nd is the birthday of Jane Kunko, Ray Guzic Sr. and David Stossel. Jake Guzic celebrates on the 23^rd. On the 24^th Elaine Klayko, Dianne Reffner and Hannah Sibis celebrate as will Jeanne Kodosky, Jay Stiffler, Am Podrasky Jr. and George Wozniak on the 25^th

July 26^th will usher in the birthdays of John Steck, Denise Askins, Renee Behe, Richard Lingafelt and Ann McCabe. On the 27^th Les Liel and John Mutsko will celebrate as will Bonita Gressick on the 28^th. Happy Birthday to All.

ANNIVERSARIES

Cheryl and Jerry Bender celebrate their anniversary on July 24^th along with Paul and Kelly Sklodowski. On the25th Deborah and Mark Wilson observe their anniversary as will Jerry and Shirley Wilson on the 28^th. Happy Anniversary greetings go to each couple.
