GHOSTS AND GOBLINS

The Halloween parade here in Lilly on Sunday, October 27th was a very colorful event with over 200 children and several adults participating. The mild temperature on a sunny afternoon made for an enjoyable time for all of those present.

Trick or Treat also went well through out the community as children went door to door seeking treats. My sweetheart granddaughters, Kiera and Kianna Nadolsky, were very helpful as they offered to distribute treats on my front porch rather than trick or treating themselves. They enjoyed doing so and I was glad to turn over the chore.

VISITOR

Tom Seno is visiting his father Pete and family here in Lilly. Tom had resided in Vermont the past several years after retiring in 2001 from the Eli Lilly Company in Indianapolis where he was a scientist.

Tom graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1965 and from St. Francis College in 1969. He then served two years in the United States Army. In 1983 he got his PHD at the University of East Anglia in England. Tom has lots of places to travel to as his son; Joshua is in San Diego, daughter Anna is in Ohio and daughter Maria is in Indianapolis.

HISTORY BOOK

It is definite, barring a tornado blowing the printers office away; the much awaited history book will be delivered to Lilly the early part of November. Plans are underway to set up a two day distribution at the Borough building, watch for notice here and in church bulletins. It can be reserved for $32 at Gall’s today or tomorrow. LAST CHANCE

WEATHER PREDICTION

The Lilly Legionnaire Weather predictions by both Jim Steberger and Steve Hammond are in. Jim says it is going to be a long, cold, hard winter beginning in November with a good bit of snow. He also said he took his wooly worm inside to keep it warm. Steve, last years best predictor, says there will be lots of rain, snow and ice during November and December and during January and February there will be plenty of ice and wind. He calls for a BIG snow in March.

VOTE

Tuesday, November 4th is Election Day. We all have heard plenty from both presidential candidates, in fact their supporters have worn the ring to my phone out, and all the extra weight the mailman had to carry around delivering their flyers has been exorbitant. The landfills will be overcrowded with all this waste. Anyways: Get out and vote.
