LIBRARY AUCTION

The Lilly/Washington Library will be holding an auction at the Bear Rock Sportsmen Club this Saturday, October 11th, starting at 6 PM. The auction will feature Food, Christmas items, Halloween items, toys, ceramic’s, blankets and tools. The auctioneer is Lilly native Don Sheridan and will be a fun evening.

If you have never been to an auction this would be a good learning experience plus the opportunity to do some Christmas buying at reasonable cost. Beside all of the above there will also be a bake sale on site and the kitchen will be open.

 

The Library is also holding an open house on October 14th from 6 until 8 PM. There will be a book sale, basket raffle and refreshments .The officers of the Library express their sincere thanks to the Senior Citizens of Lilly for the recent donation of money when the organization closed.

 

SYMPATHY

The community’s sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Nilda Campagna who recently passed away. She is survived by her brother Victor of Cresson, sister Patricia McConnell of Cresson and sister Lucille of Lilly and many nieces and nephews.

 

HISTORY BOOK

Over 70 additional copies of the Lilly History book were recently purchased and to allow for those at a distance who did not get a chance yet to order the deadline at $32 dollars plus $5 if shipping is desired will be continued until October 31st. A Society News letter will be going out shortly to announce this to all members. The book may be printed quicker than expected and now is tentative for early November.

 

BIRTHDAYS

Celebrating birthdays today are Mary Gall and Robert McCarty Jr. The 9th is also my youngest daughter, Jacquelyn Mento’s birthday. She resides in Cresson with husband Bob and children Connor and Kaylee who will keep her busy on her special day.

 

The 10th will find Patricia Felus, Angela Glass, George Klayko, Robbie Lingafelt, Karen Miklinski, Noah Baker and Brittany Spaid all partying while on the 11th Bill Agosta, Mike McIntosh and Marion Zunich observe their birthdays. The 12th brings cake and ice cream for Chuck Bradley, Paul Gates, Christina Martynuska, Jena McConnell and Francis Moyer.

On October 13th it will be party time for Consiglia Martynuska, Francis Russian, Jr., Theresa Shedlock and Brock Talko. The 14th will be the special day of Paul Bart, Michael McCarthy, Mary Puglise and Anna Marie Sweeney and on the 15th Gerald Siedlarczyk, Ann Behe, Tyler Butterbaugh, Jessica Leturgy, Paul Moyer, Benjamin Skura and Irene Suchta all observe their birthdays. Happy Birthday to All.

 

ANNIVERSARIES

Today, the 9th, Christina and Michael Quinn observe their wedding anniversary as will Margie and Tim Panek on the 10th and John and Pamela Sanders on the 11th, on the 12th Gerry and Laura Siedlarczyk celebrate down in Baltimore, then on the 14th Leona and Ted George  observe their anniversary.

 

CONGRATULATIONS

Emily Yarnish is a senior in the Penn Cambria School District and she is also a member of the Lilly Area Ambulance Association. Emily just received notice of her successful certification as an Emergency Medical Technician by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. She plans to pursue a nursing career after graduating from high school.
